Interview
What up Jumpsteady...
Let me start out by thanking you for all of your work. You have done so much
for all of us. The Gatherings, your music,
all of your work at Psychopathic, and for Morton's List. Especially for Morton's
List. It has straight up touched my life
like nothing has ever done before. I cannot explain it but I know you know what
I am talking about. It is the story of
the List. I am living the List everyday, yes I found the big game within Morton's
List. So my questions are all about the
List...
1. There is a lot of speculation of exactly how many Twilight Lords are OFFICIALLY
in the I.C.T.L.. So when yall meet
once a year (this year for instance) how many Twilight Lords were in attendance?
Ok here goes ninja from one Inner Circle Member to another I will answer all your questions...
1) There are currently only three Twilight Lords who
are also the creators of the game. If anyone had made a
submission this earliy it would have been readily denied. To become a true Twilight
Lord requires a grace period to
truly understand.
2. This deals with the answer for the last question. If indeed there are 13
Twilight Lords, how is it yall can play Morton's
List at your annual meeting? I was under the impression that an Inner Circle
can NEVER be 13 Listalos; if your a
Twilight Lord is that rule null and void?
2) As you may know by now the power of the number 13
can be used for greater purpose but only in extreame karmic
occassions. The Gathering of the Twilight Lords is one such occassion.
3. I have done many many searches for Inner Circles, such as their websites,
their location, their anything but I cannot
ever find much. I know the game is underground and not sold in many, if any,
stores, but where are all of the Listalos?
As far as web sites go I have found 2 good ones, found 2 that at least mentioned
the List and have put up a section
about it, and I am working on one. (www.thehorde.us). So I guess this question
is: what is your thoughts on why the
game has not taken over ninjas lives like it has mine, or my homies OddBall,
MaddAxe, Joe, Jeff, and Rick? We are all
so fucking deep into the game it is crazy, why is there not more Listalos in
your opinion?
3) You must realize that thier are ninjas all over that
are feeling the game as we feel the game. However it is not a
mainstream game and I see now that it never will be. To be a player of Morton's
List requires a rather unquie persona
in todays world of Block Buster movie nights and Home Video Game systems. It
requires a person to be adventrous
and brave, brave enoughf to face the unknown. Also it requires creativity and
an open heart and mind. You my friend
are placed in the top spectrum of human excistance, you my friend are an adventurer,
a free thinker and a romantic.
Thier are others like us belive me cause in my travels I have heard thier stories
and looked into thier eyes to see the
truth in them, that they belive and live the game as I do. If you read the first
page of the book What is Mortons List it
says troward the bottom "Much like a persons love, it is not meant for
everyone." And my friend indeed it is not. Sure if
more people knew the game exsisted, more would play because we would find others
like us, but because it never took
off as we at one time thought it is not visable for us to keep sinking money
trying to promote it. We never watered the
game down, we kept it as real as we could and as a result it was banned from
all chain stores. Yes the game is magic
because it is real but finacaly it will never be a success, but karmicaly it
is my greatest achivement in life and because of
it I am rich beyound beliaef.
4. I spoke ever so briefly with Double AA (during yalls first autograph singing,
and thank you so much for singing my
Morton's List book too) and he told me he is an OG of the List. But he also
told me that he only has 5 degrees or so
cause he is so fucking busy that he does not get to play that much. I would
guess that this is the deal with most if not all
Psychopathic employees. Yall love the List but cannot fit may quests into your
busy as hell schedules. So I am
wondering how many degrees they have. I know you could not name all of them
off but do you know, say how many
your brother has, or Shaggy, or Twiztid (are the part of Drop Dead Crew?), or
who ever else plays? Do Nancy and
Samantha play?
4) When we were younger all we seemed to do is play Morton's
List almost everyday but now the way things are, there
is bearly anytime to even spend with our families and now all of us play alot
less. Now when we get togeather to play
Morton's List it is a big event for us and we gather a fat crew. It is a game
meant to be played when bored, but over
here at Psychopathic we are hardly never boared with all thats going on. Worked
to death...yes...but bored...no.
5. For me Morton's List has been telling me a story. It is the story of life,
and everything comes up as it should well
usually. (fucking flight of the crow is never what I want but we always accept
it) For instance if we (The Horde
members) want to do something or get something done, and we roll, we somehow
roll a quest that involves directly
with what we need to get done. When you play do you find this to hold true?
5) Yes thier is a magic in the game and the weird thing
is I do not know where it stems from. It does seem as if what
you roll is what you needed to roll at that time. Even when we were making the
game so many times I would be
writting a Quest and something relating to it would happen. For example I was
writting Final Testament (Yang of the
Sky Pg. 273) when I recived a phone call that Dan Curtis died (wrestling promoter
for our wrestling shows.) So many
times occurances like that would happen. Also while writting the game ideas
just flowed into me out of nowhere, it was
amazing the ground breaking ideas and thoughts that would just pop into my head.
The game in a way was creating
itself thats how I feel! The Cryptic List was the last thing we made it came
to me out of nowhere and look at how
perfect it is, how everything lines up perfectly with the numbers, it is a List
that takes you to anywhere in the game and
yet it is perfect, as if we disgned the whole game off of that List. But we
didnt it just happened that way. The Question
is, what forces are guiding the game, since it is a game of both good, evil,
law and chaos...balanced, a game of
experiencing all life has to offer what forces are behind the game. Even I truly
have no idea but I do belive they are
there.
6. I know for a fact that there is more to this game than chance and I am sure
you know this as well. Karma plays a
HUGE roll and fate is also intertwined. But really I think that the game is
deeper than you, Tall Jess, and Nathan
originally intended it to be. Is it?
6) This is kinda answered above in Question #5 and yes
I do believe it is deeper then us in a big way. It could be that it
is a way to let spirits in other worlds control your actions or your direction
for a short time. Perhaps good spirits such
as past realitives or bad spirits or maybe both.
7. There is currently not a lot of merchandise available for Morton's List.
Such as that pimp dark green hoodie, the
sweet hockey jersey, stickers, , the green winter hat, or even the t-shirts.
I would LOVE to see yall bring that stuff back.
And with the quickness i might add, along with adding some new merch, such as
a black light poster, new Morton's
List gear, an official bag or backpack to carry it in etc. What is the deal,
why is it that Listalos as so very limited to what
we can get? We can , as of right now, only buy the List, 360, a new set of Die,
and a fagot ass pink sticker. Look I love
the DCG logo, love it, but that pink sticker is lame. So I would like to ask
you if we can have some more options in
merch?
7) One of the coolest things about the merchandise is
that Morton's List players can recognize one another. I will look
into getting some new merch made.
8. What is gonna happen to DCG? I hear that it is (pure speculation) gonna become
closer to Psychopathic and get
more exposure. Is this true? Is DCG gonna become closer and get a push in advertising?
It would be great to get more
ninjas involved with Morton's List.
8) Yes DCG is alive and well and we have two new games
in the works. One is Morton's List related that we are going
to try to have ready by the next Gathering (get ready for that because it is
the bomb.) The other is a Psychopathic
related boardgame thats off the hook that I am currently working on.
9. Is there any possibility of a Morton's List Street team? A group of Listalos
in a van going from town to town
spreading the word of Morton's List. If this idea has come up and if it does
happen can I be a part of it? If this is not
going to happen, is there anyway that if I got together with a few ninjas, that
we could do this? It has been talked about
for some time I guess and I was told about it at this years Gathering. If yall
are not going to do it is it OK if we do? And if
we do it, is there any help that DCG can offer? In this aspect I am talking
about in ways of promotion and supplying us
with some goodies to use?
9) Yes it is possible for sometime next year when we
drop our new game. My plan is to get together as many ninjas
who are down to help as we can.
10. Is there any plans for another addition to Morton's List? I have heard that
if there is another printing of the game
that yall are thinking about a hard cover that is all B&W. If this is true
are yall gonna be putting 360 right along with it?
And what about a third book of maybe a lost table or more mutations and deviations?
10) As in the answer to number 8 we have alot of plans for next years Gathering
11. If while playing Morton's List you would lose degrees. It can happen every
so often as per Deviations Dos, (free
trade, and gambling problem) if you lose enough degrees to take you down a title,
do you lose your previous power? I
know that you would lose the title but there seems to be a dispute as to weather
or not you lose that power too?
11) If you ever lose a title you would lose the power that came with that title as well.
12. Again in Deviations Dos #25 User Friendly... What are the six quests you have written down here?
12) I dont have my copy here and cant remember them off
hand because its so hard to choose from the many many
quests.
13. The Twilight Scroll #30 Find MORTON. Well this has many people wondering
who or what is MORTON? I am not
asking you to tell us cause that is not right. We all have our own ideas as
to this question. But for my 13th and final
question I was wondering if you could share some insight perhaps. Does the ninja
Scott Morton have anything to do
with it? He is listed in the special thanks for 360? So can you shed some light
on the subject?
13) That kid has nothing at all to do with MORTON.
Peace Ninja
I am sorry this was so long. Trust me it could have been pages and pages but
I am sure this shit took up too much of
your time as it is. Thank you ever so much for your time, all of your work,
and your insight. I know that you cannot
answer all of my questions but it is helly cool if you can. Thank you again,
LISTALO your the shit BOTTOM LINE.
